Kaitlyn and Alex | The Morris Estate River House Wedding | Niles, Michigan

Oh boy, have we been BUSY over here the last couple of weeks. It has been non stop, 3 weddings, 5 sessions and lots and lots of trying to get caught up on previews. So today, well tonight when this is posted, is the start of a full week of GORGEOUS weddings and BEAUTIFUL couples! And no one better to kick it off than the new Mr. and Mrs. Poole!

Kaitlyn and Alex met online. She is from South Bend and he is from the Lansing area in Michigan. They talked on the phone and through text every day for a few weeks. At first she was reluctant to start a relationship with someone who lived over 2 hours away while she was also working 2 jobs. Alex insisted on a first date and he drove down to South Bend to meet Kaitlyn! So they went out and that night Alex got food poisoning from the restaurant they ate at and had to stay the weekend in a spare bedroom and Kaitlyn’s home. She took the weekend to care for him and make sure he was feeling his best to drive back to Michigan. He of course says that he fell for her right then and there because of how truly caring she was with him. From the start Kaitlyn took care of Alex, in sickness and in health. And from there the relationship grew and Alex moved to South Bend after finishing culinary school and getting a job at a Downtown South Bend restaurant. He proposed to Katy pretty soon after he made the move at the Grotto and Notre Dame. And they spent the evening celebration at Bonefish Grill - I am SURE some Bang Bang Shrimp was eaten that night!

Their wedding was a true testament to their loving relationship and the bond that they have. It was an intimate gathering with close family and friends at The River House Bed and Breakfast on the property of The Morris Estate. The day was cloudy and called for rain. But the skies cleared just in time for their outdoor ceremony and it was beautiful the rest of the evening. They were truly celebrated all weekend and we couldn’t be more honored to have been a part of capturing their love story!
