Kara and Daniel | Purdue University Engagement Session

This is long awaited for me to share but I am so excited to finally have it up on the blog! Kara and Daniel’s engagement session in West Lafayette was beautiful! We couldn’t have asked for a better day to photograph. Yes, it was REALLY HOT (heat index of 104) but the lighting was beautiful, the breeze was nice and the compliments they got for their precious pup made for a perfect evening.
We spent the session laughing, talking about their wedding plans, I met Kara’s mom and we chatted as they changed outfits, but most of all talking about the move that they were making the very next day to their new home in West Palm Beach, Florida!! Kara was ready to move and be with her fiance, who had been down there for 6 weeks at the time. And it was nice to walk around campus with them, the place they had met and fell in love, for the last time as West Lafayette residence.
I am so excited for their June wedding at Swan Lake in Plymouth. It’s going to be great to see them and their tan Florida skin next summer!

Kila and Nick | Chicago Engagement Session

Okay - where do I even start with this blog post?! I have known Kila for at least 6 years now. I used to work part time with her mom at a tax office (I’m not naming names today). And we met through that! We traveled to many Vera Bradley shows in Fort Wayne and kept in touch. I got to photograph her gorgeous bestie’s wedding this past September (Shout out Ashley and Jordan!) And when Kila got engaged in November, she called me the very next day! We talked all about Nick’s proposal - talked about my available dates and venues that I loved in the Kalamazoo are since they both went to Western Michigan. Of course I said “LOFT 310!!!” and was just so excited for them and honored to get to capture their wedding day!

Their engagement session was so much fun. We walked around a foggy, semi drizzly Chicago and it made for some seriously beautiful photos at North Avenue Beach. We talked about their day, the vendors that they have booked and it got me even more excited to photograph their wedding day. Not only because I will get to work with some amazing vendors (shoutout to my girl Leah at LB Floristry) at an amazing venue, but I get to spend the day with these two and their families, capturing the most perfect day. I am so excited to share their engagement session with you (sorry it took so long…) and can’t wait for April when they become Mr. and Mrs. Elliott!!
